Hi, I’m a random translator from the town of Lurkerville. This is my first blog, first time translating, first time starting this sort of hobby. Apparently I’m decent enough for others to join me in translating Chinese -> English web novels. I’m now mostly a sub-translator/editor/quality checker because of this transition. I still do translate some chapters myself though! Any post that doesn’t have another translator’s name in the chapter is done by me. We are casuals so chapters are translated on our free time and will come out whenever they are finished. Glossaries are made by yours truly when translating as I read so it may change every so often if I encounter a better name for people, places, and things. Your support and thanks will motivate us though, so keep on making me (and them) happy /o/.

I realize that I do not want to be both a person and a group of people so for now the temporary name of my little group is alyschu & co. alyschu&co, 4ever. Don’t think the others care about that but I care!! Individual rights!! That sort of stuff!! I’ll ask them later about their feels.. I only know that they don’t care for a team name… *shrugs* I found the color button but the purple there isn’t flattering so I shall be red. Contrary to popular belief, the red power ranger is not always the weakest.

Every single person up there basically translates, edits, and proofreads the project they are working on. Unless a translator is juggling more than one project, we have different translators for different projects. Click here to see which translator is on which project! Specific translator priority is listed in the Manual Progress Report. I will do the final checks on consistency with each project’s translator(s) before it actually gets released though! Most of us are fairly new at this so we’ll be striving to improve out translation quality as the days go by~!

Note: #2 is only half a person so he does whatever he wants and is like those ghost members of clubs that need a certain # of members to not be abolished. Also, because the team is essentially robbing me of my namesake, I decided that I get to be on top of everyone on the list up there!

For people who are interested in joining our team, as of right now we only need translators. This reasoning is explained a bit in the Manual Progress Report on the side. An editor is practically a translator for ATG. If we recruit an editor we wouldn’t know if what the author wanted to convey would change during the editing process unless we double check it ourselves, which would make the point of an editor moot. We are jack of all trades just for ATG because I think it requires and demands that from us. Ok I confess, I do not want to deal with all those tests and stuff I would have to do/look over which is why I’m only accepting translators at the moment. If I ever cave in, I may start recruiting editors.

Translator Requirements:
– You have to at least be able to translate an entire chapter and get its point across.

This requirement is here because we do not skimp out anything unless otherwise indicated in the translator notes. We translate every single thing that happens in the chapter. Even the wind that flutters against the long moonlit ebony hair. If you miss some details, that’s fine but you still have to be able to translate an entire chapter and get it’s point across to the readers. We do not want to diverge from what the author writes in his RAWs and cut off random stuff in the chapter. Basically you need to know Chinese. Yeah, I’m big on quality. Let’s try our best, and remember, we don’t have to be perfect. Even if I’m crazy.. don’t mind me..

If you want to join me in translating novels that were originally Japanese, you don’t have to be too crazy about what I wrote up there since they’ll be a translation of a translation (lol).

Translator Rights:
– No requirement to be a robot and spit out 35353 chapters a day. In the end it’s volunteer work out of your own free will and I won’t force you to do anything you don’t want to! Do whatever you want.
– You will be credited if you contributed to a chapter though, I am big on that.
– Every translator on the team will be able to choose whether or not they want to accept donations. If so, talk to me!
– If you happen to join the team, please tell me beforehand if you’re going on hiatus or else I’ll think you dropped down a toilet and worry about you.
– You have the right to get pissed at whoever you want (as long as it’s not me, heh)
– You are free to come and go as you please.

Oh right, concerning any future translators who are interested in helping/joining but don’t want to work on any of the main/teaser projects, you should head over to my Recommend a Novel or Teaser Projects page and check out some of the stuff people recommended if you randomly decide to try translating your own web novel. If you pick one up, you can make your own little blog or come up to me and shake it in my face. If I am interested in your project, I may even help you out! Ask nicely if you want me to put it up on my blog (aka. host it) for you since I do plan on getting my own custom domain in the future.

If anyone wants to try their hands out on translating Chinese -> English, you can still send me an email to let me attempt to gauge your “level”. I can point you to the genre you enjoy reading with a level that you can translate with (a somewhat) ease in until you think you’ve leveled up your translation skills and want to tackle a harder web novel.

Disclaimer: Everything here is translated by fans for fans. I do not own any of these web novels that I’m currently translating. Every one of my project’s RAWs can be viewed on multiple online websites so there should be no problem with me translating those works as they are available to the general public. If for any reason that the author of any of my translation projects suddenly has an issue with me/my team translating their work, I will take them down accordingly.
